Cute break: Rare baby gnaws on Mom's elbow

Laurent Cipriani | Associated Press
Asiatic lion Shiva, the mother of three cubs, seems patient as one of her cubs chews on her elbow in the Besancon zoo in eastern France on Thursday. The zoo held off announcing the Dec. 31 births until this week, afraid the two female cubs and one male might not survive. There are about 300 Asiatic lions in the wild, all in an Indian reserve, according to the WWF. It's one of the world's rarest species.
