Suspect admits stealing VA scope

In August 2010, Scott D. Robb allegedly stole an Olympus Gastro Scope from the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Fort Wayne.

This month, a federal prosecutor charged him with the theft, as well as with selling a device that was “stolen and misbranded” sometime between the date of the theft and November 2011. His age and place of residence are not available in court documents.

On Friday, Robb filed a guilty plea with the court, admitting to both charges and agreeing to pay $222,880 in restitution to the Fort Wayne VA hospital, as well as to the VA Medical Center in Dayton. It’s unclear in court documents how the hospital in Dayton is involved.

He is scheduled to appear before a judge to plead guilty in March, according to court records.
