Jeremy Gates fights Anthony Luciani

The Komets' Jeremy Gates takes on Cincinnati's Anthony Luciani on Feb. 1, 2014. The Komets trailed 2-0 at the time and went on to win 6-2.

The pivotal Gates fight

On Saturday, the Komets trailed the Cincinnati Cyclones by two goals before Jeremy Gates fought Anthony Luciani.

The Komets went on to win 6-2.

Watch above to see the fight.

It's interesting that some were knocking Fort Wayne's Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock for a fight Friday that might have given the Elmira Jackals some life. I hope those people are knocking Luciani, too.

I know when the Komets are down big, have no life, I tend to say, "Someone needs to drop the gloves here."

But you have to have a willing combatant.

As a matter of etiquette, I think someone should give you the fight you want, even if their team is winning.

So I didn't have a problem with Schrock doing it Friday or Luciano doing it Saturday. Their teammates just have to back it up with their play the rest of the game.
