It wasn't a bad game for the Komets, even though they lost 3-1 to the Kalamazoo Wings.
They just didn't score, despite a ton of opportunities from close range.
"We've just got to give a goalie like (Max Strang) more goal support," Komets coach Gary Graham said. "You can't expect to win games 1-nothing."
I thought Strang played pretty well, even though he had only 17 saves. He maybe could have had the second goal, but Sam Ftorek is no slouch shooting the puck from long range.
Interesting nugget from Mike Embach, who had the Komets' lone goal:
"We thought we played solid," he said. "We've got to know our assignments better on a couple of faceoffs; we were getting lost. They are one of the few teams that have some set plays that they run in the offensive zone. We knew them on video, but we just fell asleep for a couple minutes."
