Ohioan dies when vehicle rolls over

A Cecil, Ohio, man died Friday night in a one-vehicle crash in northwest Ohio.

Sylvester D. Ankney, 63, of Cecil, was driving a 2007 Buick Rendezvous east on the Defiance-Paulding County Line Road, about a half-mile east of The Bend Road, about 9 p.m. when he went off the north side of the road, overcorrected and went back into the eastbound lane. He overcorrected again, went off the north side of the road and struck a ditch before his vehicle overturned several times, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Ankney was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
