The Komets and Gwinnett Gladiators are tied at 1 after one period at Memorial Coliseum.

Brandon Marino opened the scoring at 7:26, after Scott Fleming sent him a pass from behind the net.

Gwinnett's Josh Currie answered at 17:07, weaving his way through the entire defense before beating goaltender Ben Meisner glove-side.
