Purdue earns pledge from Martesse Patterson

Ohio native Martesse Patterson, a three-star 2014 prospect, gave his commitment to Purdue on Sunday, according to reports from GoldandBlack.com and other recruiting sites.

Patterson is among the top-100 offensive linemen in this cycle according to the 247Composite, a service from 247Sports.com that aggregates the rankings of Rivals, Scout, ESPN and 247Sports into one consensus ranking.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman is the 14th commit in the class. He had an offer from Illinois as well as several Mid-American Conference programs.

The Boilermakers now have three offensive linemen committed in the 2014 class.
