Cox named to committees

House Speaker Brian Bosma has assigned new state Rep. Casey Cox, R-Fort Wayne, to serve on three legislative committees.

He was tapped by a local caucus to serve the remainder of Phyllis Pond's term. She died in September after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Cox will serve on the Elections and Apportionment Committee; the Judiciary Committee; and the Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee.

The 2014 legislative session begins Jan. 6
