  • K's fall to 5 in power rankings, get new player
The Komets have signed Brett Beebe, who was in training camp with them and has been playing with Pensacola of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
  • Things to check out
For the first time this season, the Komets aren't on top of the Eastern Conference standings. Losing three of five games will do that to a team.
  • Bad loss yields great highlights
Even though the Komets lost 3-1 to the Greenville Road Warriors -- and lost their hold on first place in the Eastern Conference for the first time this season -- I think you will enjoy the highlights in the video here.

Lang's postgame comments

Mickey Lang had a hat trick in the Komets 5-4 victory at Evansville today, a day after being one of the players called out by coach Gary Graham.

"We played better and had a more complete game," said Lang, whose teammates, Brandon Marino and Scott Fleming, also scored.

As for being criticized by Graham, Lang said: "Yeah, I was obviously upset and so was (Mike) Vaskivuo, my roommate. But I think we have broad shoulders and we can take criticism and understand that we have to be committed to playing smart in both ends and valuing the puck.

"Coach is competitive and wants to win and I know Vaskivuo and I are the same way. Vaskivuo had a huge game tonight and is always positive and always looking to help the team win."
