Records: IPFW (3-2), Purdue-Calumet (4-1)

When: 7 p.m. today

Where: Gates Center

Radio: 1380 AM

Key matchup: Luis Jacobo’s season debut in Texas last weekend was a Texas-size hit. Jacobo, a 6-foot-7 senior out of Sanford, Fla., put up 24 points against Texas-Pan American and recorded his second career double-double, going for 20 points and 10 rebounds Sunday against Tennessee Tech. His doppelganger on the Calumet side is Kaspars Brencans, a 6-7 junior out of Riga, Latvia, who’s led Calumet in scoring in two of its five games and also averages 4 rebounds while shooting 61.4 percent from the field. Look for Noah Allen and Pierre Bland to square off at point guard, too; Bland averages 9.4 points in addition to his 4.8 assists per, and Allen is Calumet’s second-leading scorer with an 11.6 average.

The skinny: IPFW is 2-0 since Jacobo joined the lineup. … Steve Forbes continues to be an effective space eater in the paint, averaging 12.2 points and 3.8 rebounds with five blocked shots. … Joe Reed is averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 rebounds off the bench. … Calumet has two players from Fort Wayne on its roster: 6-8 Jaime Burkhard from Northrop and 6-1 Devin Jones from South Side. … Calumet has 17 players on its roster from Indiana, nine from northwest or northern Indiana.
