Lima Road bank branch robbed

A lone robber took an undisclosed amount of money in a bank holdup about 9:30 a.m. Monday at STAR Financial Bank, 7110 Lima Road, city police said.

A man in his mid-20s entered the bank, handed a teller a note demanding cash and indicated that he was armed, the Fort Wayne Police Department said in a statement.

The robber kept a hand in his coat pocket, as though he were concealing a weapon, police said.

After getting cash, the robber left the bank in a silver SUV with a white circular sticker in a left-side window toward the rear of the vehicle.

Anyone recognizing the man in the photo or familiar with the described SUV is asked to call police at 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP.

The robbery remains under investigation by city police and the Bank Robbery Task Force.
