Giudices face more charges

T. Giudice

Two stars of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” are now facing additional fraud charges.

Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice and Teresa Giudice were indicted Monday on one count of bank fraud and one count of loan application fraud.

Authorities allege Teresa Giudice lied about having a job and a $15,000 monthly salary on a loan application.

The couple were indicted in July on 39 counts, including bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud. Giuseppe Giudice was also charged with failing to file tax returns from 2004 to 2008.

Plan opposed

Some residents of a town in New York’s Catskill Mountains are trying to stop actor Judd Hirsch from building a 177-foot wind turbine on his property.

Dozens of Hirsch’s neighbors in the town of Denning have signed a petition opposing the “Taxi” star’s plan.

Richard Benktwitt lives about a mile from Hirsch. He tells The New York Times that the turbine “would ruin the beauty of the location.”

The 78-year-old Hirsch tells the Times that his neighbors’ fears are “baloney.”

Sponsoring dog

He plays the tough guy in movies, but actor Steven Seagal showed his soft side when he “adopted” one of Bucharest’s street dogs.

The dogs have been in the news after a 4-year-old boy was fatally mauled by a stray in August and Parliament passed a law permitting Bucharest’s 64,000 street dogs to be euthanized.

Seagal visited a dog shelter south of Bucharest Sunday and adopted a 7-month-old black and tan puppy in the long-distance adoption program, which costs $18 a month. The dog will remain at the shelter.

He is currently filming thriller “A Good Man” in Romania.
