Star Financial Bank branch robbed

A lone robber took an undisclosed amount of money in a Monday morning bank robbery at Star Financial Bank, 7110 Lima Road, Fort Wayne police said.

Police said they responded to the bank branch about 9:25 a.m. on a report of a bank robbery.

Officers said they were told a man in his mid-20s had entered the bank, handed a teller a note demanding cash and indicated that he was armed.

The suspect kept a hand in his coat pocket the entire time, as though he were concealing a weapon, police said.

After getting cash, the robber left the bank in a silver SUV with a white circular sticker in a left-side window toward the rear.

Anyone recognizing the man in the photo or familiar with the described SUV is asked to call police at 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP.

The robbery remains under investigation by city police and the Bank Robbery Task Force.
