Verbatim: Star Financial Bank robbed Monday morning

Fort Wayne Police Department:

At approximately 9:25 a.m. this morning officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Bank Robbery Task Force responded to the Star Financial Bank located at 7110 Lima Road in reference to a bank robbery.

Once on scene officers were told that a male white in his mid 20's entered the bank handed a teller a note that demanded cash, the note also indicated that he was armed. The suspect kept a hand in his coat pocket as though he was concealing a weapon the entire time.

The suspect was given cash at which point he left the bank where he was seen leaving the immediate area in a silver SUV. It should be noted that witnesses reported seeing what was described as a "white circular sticker" in a left side window of the SUV towards the rear of the vehicle though not on the rear window itself.

Anyone that recognizes the person captured in the photographs provided or are familiar with a SUV as described is encouraged to call our non-emergency line 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP with that information.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Bank Robbery Task Force.
