  • K's fall to 5 in power rankings, get new player
The Komets have signed Brett Beebe, who was in training camp with them and has been playing with Pensacola of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
  • Things to check out
For the first time this season, the Komets aren't on top of the Eastern Conference standings. Losing three of five games will do that to a team.
  • Bad loss yields great highlights
Even though the Komets lost 3-1 to the Greenville Road Warriors -- and lost their hold on first place in the Eastern Conference for the first time this season -- I think you will enjoy the highlights in the video here.
Great saves, OT goal, fights

The Komets won in overtime again, 4-3 over the Greenville Road Warriors, on Nov. 16, 2013. Check out the goaltending, the goals and the rough stuff.

Here's what Mickey Lang had to say about his overtime goal -- which you can see in the above video of highlights -- that gave the Komets a 4-3 victory over the Greenville Road Warriors and extended Fort Wayne's season-best winning streak to three games ...

"A lot of credit goes to Brandon Marino because he kept jamming, jamming, jamming (at the puck) and both of those (defensemen) went to him. Then, I was open all alone. It didn't go in nicely, but it went it."

As for the Komets' penchant for blowing leads, Lang said ...

"I feel like we jump on teams early on and then something changes where they shift and gain the momentum on us. Right now, we're coming back. But hopefully we come to the point – hopefully sooner rather than later – where we can just close teams out and step on their throats and get out of there early."

As for the auction of the Komets' Stars-and-Stripes jerseys, which benefits the Veterans Airlift Command, goaltender Andrey Makarov's sweater went for the most at $800. Chris Auger was second at $782.

Everyone noted that the Road Warriors' third goal was pretty unlucky, since the puck bounced off the stanchion and on to Jean-Michel Rizk's stick, and he set up Sam Klassen to tie it in the third period.

Coach Gary Graham said, after the game: "I kept telling the guys to stay positive. It wasn't that we were playing bad. The third period, they took it to us because the momentum had shifted, but we found a way to get it done."
