Shopping trolley's free rides Nov. 30

The last Saturday in November has been selected for this year's Holly Trolley Shopping Day, organized by the Downtown Improvement District.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 30.

Families can ride free on trolleys downtown and buses citywide. Retailers along the trolley routes will offer special holiday items, discounts and refreshments.

Fort Wayne's downtown and Wells Street corridor include more than 50 gift shops, galleries and attractions. Three pop-up markets will also include dozens of local artisans and vendors.

Trolleys will also take riders to HolidayFest traditions including the Festival of Gingerbread, the Festival of Trees and the Festival of Trains.

Two overlapping trolley routes – designated red and green – will be available, reducing wait times to 20 minutes.
