Notre Dame falls out of polls

Notre Dame removed itself from the BCS bowl picture and fell out of the polls thanks to its 28-21 loss at Pittsburgh on Saturday night.

The Irish (7-3) fell out of the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today coaches poll on Sunday.

Notre Dame returned to the AP poll last week at No. 24 and had been ranked 25th in the coaches poll the last two weeks.

Notre Dame will likely also fall out of BCS standing, which is released Sunday night. The Irish were 23rd in last week's standings.

The Irish have a bye week before finishing the regular season with a home game against BYU (6-3) on Nov. 23 and a road game against Stanford (8-1), which is No. 5 in the AP and coaches poll, on Nov. 30.
