United Way 211 celebrates 10 years

United Way of Allen County’s 211 Services celebrated 10 years of operation Thursday.

The 211 program, which provides confidential, 24-hour access to more than 1,800 local health and human services, are available to nearly 800,000 residents.

In 2012, more than 45,000 calls for assistance were received. The program covers Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, Jay, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties.
