Bieber in hot water on graffiti

The website of Brazil’s biggest news outlet published photos Wednesday it says show pop star Justin Bieber spray painting graffiti on a wall. And it adds that police want to question him about it.

The O Globo newspaper reported that photographers snapped photos of Bieber as he painted graffiti on a wall of the former Hotel Nacional in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday morning.

Defacing buildings is a crime in Brazil punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine.

In the Colombian capital of Bogota, where he performed last week, Bieber upset authorities when he spray-painted graffiti on a wall along one of the capital city’s main avenues while being escorted by officers in a police car.

Journal to be sold

An unpublished notebook containing the musings and poems of Jim Morrison in the last year of his life is included in a coming sale of rock ’n’ roll memorabilia.

The handwritten marble notebook by The Doors’ lead singer could bring between $200,000 and $300,000 on Dec. 18 in an auction.

Tour back on

Kanye West’s temporarily sidetracked Yeezus tour will kick off again Nov. 16 in Philadelphia.

A Wednesday news release from his publicist says West has rescheduled dates in his hometown of Chicago, as well as Toronto and Detroit. He will have to cancel shows in Vancouver; Denver; Columbus, Ohio; Minneapolis and St. Louis because of logistics.

The rapper’s tour kicked off in Seattle last month but was derailed after a large LED screen used in the production was damaged in a traffic accident.

Vargas in treatment

ABC News anchor Elizabeth Vargas is in treatment for alcohol dependency.

Vargas and the network confirmed Wednesday a New York Daily News story about her treatment. Vargas is anchor of the newsmagazine “20/20” and last appeared on the network in October.

Vargas says she realized she was becoming increasingly dependent on alcohol. She says that if going public with her problem gives someone else the courage to seek help, she will be grateful.
