What Graham had to say

After giving up five unanswered goals in a 6-3 loss to Evansville, Komets coach Gary Graham was understandably displeased.

"Eventually we have to figure out how to play with the lead and be consistent, and that's the reality of it," Graham said. "You can see glimpses, but unless it ends up as wins, it's not good enough."

The Komets, who are 2-3-2, have coughed up a lead in every game they've lost.

"It's a combination of things," Graham said, noting that consistency is the biggest thing. "Once we do something good, like kill off a 5-on-3 (power play), we make a mistake that hurts us."

The Komets played one man short of a full lineup because forward Shawn Szydlowski has a groin injury. They don't yet know the extent of it.

"I believe in these guys, but at the end of the day we're here to win," Graham said. "These guys need to realize that sooner rather than later."
