Chandler Boggs threw for 225 yards with five touchdowns to lead host Carroll to a 42-7 victory over Warsaw, clinching a Class 6A sectional championship Friday.
Boggs completed 10 of 19 passes, with much of the damage being done through Drue Tranquill, who had three catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Teammate Tyler Winklejohn had four catches for 57 yards and two touchdowns for the Chargers (9-2).
Tranquill had 10 solo tackles, two assists and a sack against the Tigers (7-4).
Warsaw was paced by Tristan McClone, who rushed 35 times for 108 yards.
NORTH SIDE 42, HUNTINGTON NORTH 20: At North Side, Mike Lovett completed 9 of 16 passes for 302 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions for the Redskins (7-3).
The Vikings (5-5) were led by Keenan Leichty, who completed 26 of 47 passes for 228 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for a touchdown.
NEW HAVEN 47, FRANKFORT 0: Ariest Vasquez ran for 332 yards and four touchdowns for the host Bulldogs.
New Haven (10-1) also got seven catches for 131 yards and a touchdown from Jordan Hogue.
BISHOP DWENGER 45, ANGOLA 7: At Zollner Stadium, the Saints Mike Fiacable opened the scoring with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Espinoza.
He also had a 20-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to Peyton Philpot. Ryan Watercutter had a 57-yard punt return for a touchdown for the Saints (8-3) in the sectional semifinal game. Angola finished 6-5.
NORWELL 42, JAY COUNTY 12: In Portland, Piercen Harnish completed 8 of 11 passes for 137 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, and rushed 15 times for 105 yards and one touchdown for the Knights (6-5).
Jay County (7-4) was led by J.D. Mangas, who had 124 rushing yards.
CONCORDIA 48, BELLMONT 15: In Decatur, David Morrison accounted for six touchdowns in the Cadets semifinal victory. He completed 12 of 18 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed five times for 31 yards and three touchdowns.
Jon Poore rushed 16 times for 143 yards and a touchdown for the Cadets (8-3). Jacob Minich had six catches for 137 yards and two scores. Bellmont finished 5-6.
BREMEN 35, CHURUBUSCO 28: In Bremen, Churubusco (8-3) was led by Kane Johnsons 210 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Teammate Logan Harris had his ninth interception, which tied a school record, but Bremen (8-3) still advanced to the sectional finals.
WOODLAN 32, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 6: In Woodburn, Jaylin Bennett rushed 38 times for 318 yards and two touchdowns for the Warriors (8-3). DeAndre Woods also had two touchdowns, but only six yards, on five carries. Hunter Louden had three sacks against Prairie Heights (5-6).
OAK HILL 55, BLUFFTON 22: In Bluffton, the Tigers trailed 34-7 at halftime and couldnt recover.
Oak Hill (8-3) was led by Zach Daniels, who rushed 14 times for 214 yards and three touchdowns.
For Bluffton (5-6), quarterback Malcolm Marshall completed 16 of 28 passes for 217 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, and he rushed for 18 yards.
SOUTH ADAMS 14, ADAMS CENTRAL 13: In Berne, the Starfires (4-7) scored 14 unanswered points – including Derek Wanners 7-yard touchdown pass to Collin Affolder with 4:06 left in the fourth quarter – to get the victory.
Wanner completed 7 of 9 passes for 89 yards and one touchdown, and he rushed 11 times for 53 yards.
Adams Central finished 6-5.
