News and notes
- Purdue and Ohio State are on different trajectories this season. The Boilermakers are 1-6 and 0-3 in the Big Ten, en route to their worst season since 1993, when Purdue went 1-10. The Buckeyes, meanwhile, are 20-0 over the course of the past two seasons, including an 8-0, 4-0 mark this year.
- Despite its success nationally, Ohio State has struggled mightily against Purdue in West Lafayette. The Buckeyes are 1-3 in their last four trips to Ross-Ade, and the Boilermakers took Ohio State to overtime last year in Columbus.
- The Boilermakers are rolling out a few promotions for this matchup. Purdue is encouraging fans to wear black for its "blackout" of the Buckeyes, and the athletics department is also putting on a Social Media Day starting Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Those interested in participating should follow @PurdueSports as it releases information throughout the day.
