Trick or treat with the governor? Maybe

The rains and storms bearing down on Indiana are playing havoc with the trick-or-treat schedule -- even for the top politician in the state.

Gov. Mike Pence and First Lady Karen Pence were supposed to hand out candy at the governor's residence tonight, continuing a recent tradition in the neighborhood.

The governor was going to don an Indianapolis Colts uniform, while the first lady would dress as an Indiana Fever women's basketball player.

But when Indianapolis moved trick-or-treat to Friday to avoid the weather, the governor's office sent out an updated release merely saying the trick-or-treat hours at the residence were moved to Friday as well.

That doesn't mean, however, that the First Couple will be there Friday to hand out the candy.

A new release sent out Thursday said the Pences would host a Halloween party at an elementary school tonight.

Then First Lady Pence would give out candy at the residence on Friday. There was no explanation for why the governor would not attend.
