Notre Dame ranked in preseason AP Top 25

Notre Dame will open the basketball season ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 and the USA Today coaches poll.

The Irish are ranked No. 21 in the preseason AP poll, which was released Thursday.

Notre Dame was ranked No. 22 in the coaches poll, which was released Oct. 17.

The Irish went 25-10 last season and lost in their first game in the NCAA tournament. Notre Dame finished last season ranked No. 23 in the AP poll.

Other ACC teams ranked in the preseason Top 25 are No. 4 Duke, No. 8 Syracuse, No. 12 North Carolina and No. 24 Virginia.
