Braves take sectional title

The Bellmont volleyball team, ranked No. 5 in Class 3A, swept its competition Saturday and claimed the sectional crown at Heritage.

The Braves beat Mississinewa 25-12, 25-15, 25-17 in the championship after a 3-0 sweep of Norwell.

CONCORDIA 3, BISHOP DWENGER 2: Tionna Williams had 26 killls and 20 digs for the Cadets in the sectional championship.

CARROLL 3, DeKALB 1: Jacqueline Quade had 14 kills as the Chargers rallied from a first-set loss.

HOMESTEAD 3, JAY COUNTY 0: Suzanne Peters led the Spartans with 11 kills and nine digs in the championship win.

WOODLAN 3, S. ADAMS 0: Three players registered double-digit kills to lead the Warriors.
