Jury convicts man of murder attempt

This week, an Allen Superior Court jury convicted an Allen County man of attempted murder, believing he was trying to kill his partner when he stabbed her.

Harry White II, 44, conceded to the jury that he had stabbed the woman, strangled her and stole her car. But his lawyer argued that White had not intended to kill her.

According to court documents, the woman told police she had been living with White for seven years.

In June, she returned to their home and White was in the shower.

After he got dressed, he followed her into the bedroom and attacked her, angry because she hadn’t taken him to work the week before, according to court documents.

The jury convicted him of attempted murder, intimidation, auto theft, strangulation and interference with the reporting of a crime.

He faces more than 20 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
