Semi, car collide on Ohio 15; 1 airlifted

A Defiance, Ohio, man was flown to a Toledo hospital early Thursday afternoon after his car struck a semi on Ohio 15 south of the city.

The Defiance Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash south of Carter Road about 12:25 p.m.

A 1998 Oldsmobile 88 driven by Anthony Silva, 40, was going north on Ohio 15 when the car went left of center and struck a 2014 Volvo semi driven by Gregory A. Otto, 45 of South Charleston, Ohio, the post said in a statement.

Silva was flown to Toledo Hospital by Promedica Life Flight, the statement said. His condition was not immediately available.

Otto was not injured, the post said.

The Defiance County Sheriff’s Department and Defiance Fire and Rescue assisted.
