Ants delve into analytics

The Mad Ants have hired Eitan Rosenberg as director of analytics for the D-League team.

With experience helping NBA teams, he will be involved in player evaluations and the use of advanced statistics.

"I feel very fortunate to have Eitan as a part of our staff," Mad Ants president Jeff Potter said today. "Eitan will be able to bring a fresh and incredibly valuable perspective of what players can and cannot do through his fantastic analytical skills, and I look forward to working closely with him this season."

Among the advanced stats Rosenberg will analyze are true shooting percentage, rebound percentage and win share for new head coach Conner Henry.

The D-League draft is Nov. 1, though Fort Wayne doesn't have a first-round pick.

The Mad Ants' season opens Nov. 22 at Texas.
