K's cut Hauswirth

The Komets have cut forward Jake Hauswirth, who was scoreless with three shots on goal in his lone game with the team, a 4-3 loss to Toledo in the season opener last Saturday.

The Komets also finalized the contract with goaltender Max Strang, who had been in training camp with Fort Wayne and was brought back to fill the void left by John Muse, called up to Charlotte of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

Strang had been with Bloomington of the Southern Professional Hockey League, which begins its season Friday.
