Indiana senior tight end Ted Bolser made the midseason John Mackey Award watch list, the award's selection committee announced Tuesday.
The John Mackey Award is given each season to the most outstanding tight end in college football. Bolser, a fifth-year senior, has earned his keep in that regard.
The 6-foot-6, 252-pound Cincinnati native is tied for first nationally among tight ends with five touchdowns. He is also tied for seventh in receptions (19) and is No. 19 at his position with 209 receiving yards.
Bolser has more than 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards as a Hoosier, and is the 20th player in program history to reach those numbers. He is also third to do so among current IU players, along with senior wide receiver Kofi Hughes and junior wideout Shane Wynn.
Semifinalists for the Mackey Award will be announced Nov. 18.
