MARTINSVILLE, Ind. – A central Indiana man with a history of arguments with his son faces a preliminary charge of murder after allegedly shooting the younger man several times.
Morgan County Sheriff Robert Downing says 49-year-old David Carrender admitted killing 19-year-old Wyatt Carrender on Sunday evening inside the older man’s rural home.
Downey said the Carrenders had been out watching football games together when they started arguing over whether to return home. Once home, the arguing continue, and David Carrender shot his son six times.
Downing said alcohol appeared to have been involved.
A neighbor, Tony White, told WISH-TV a gun also was drawn during a fight between the two over the summer.
David Carrender was being held without bond Monday. It wasn’t clear if he has an attorney.
