Former TinCaps manager Doug Dascenzo joins Atlanta Braves

Doug Dascenzo, who managed the TinCaps during their 2009 Midwest League championship run, has been hired by the Atlanta Braves as their third-base coach, according to a report from The Associated Press.

Dascenzo, 49, replaces Brian Snitker, who will manage the Braves' Triple-A team.

The former MLB outfielder, who left the San Diego Padres organization in 2011, was a roving outfield and baserunning instructor for the Braves during the 2013 season. He will coach outfielders and baserunnng for Atlanta in the coming year.
