Nebraska dominant as Purdue enters final quarter

WEST LAFAYETTE – Freshman quarterback Danny Etling summed up Purdue's awful outing against Nebraska in one play.

On second-and-9 from the Boilermakers' 17, Etling scrambled back to his goal line and was driven into the end zone by former Purdue commit Randy Gregory, who is now a defensive end for the Cornhuskers.

The safety gave Nebraska a 30-0 lead.

There is more Husker red than Boiler black in Ross-Ade Stadium today. All the hype surrounding Etling's first start and the team's ability to regroup during its bye week fizzled by the end of the first quarter.

Purdue has as many first downs as punts (7). The Boilers are 2 of 10 on third down, and Etling has been sacked four times for a loss of 43 yards. He is 11 for 21 for 121 yards with an interception. DeAngelo Yancey has 91 of those yards on four catches.
