Purdue safety Landon Feichter could be back by November

Purdue coach Darrell Hazell said Landon Feichter, a Bishop Dwenger graduate and junior safety, is a few weeks from playing again after a broken leg suffered Sept. 7.

Feichter, a walk-on turned scholarship player who led the Boilermakers in tackles last season, broke his leg in a game against Indiana State. Hazell said the Fort Wayne native has progressed well and could be back in time for a home matchup against Ohio State on Nov. 2.

"He's really, really doing a nice job of getting back," Hazell said during his weekly press conference Tuesday. "We talked to the trainers yesterday in our staff meeting last night, and we looked at the calendar. There's a potential for Ohio State, but definitely the next week he should be back to playing for us."
