Mad Ants to introduce new coach Tuesday

The Mad Ants will introduce their new head coach at a press conference Tuesday, the team announced today.

Team president Jeff Potter, who has been in search of a replacement for Duane Ticknor since July 10, declined to comment or give any details on the hire today.

Ticknor led the Mad Ants to a 27-23 record in the D-League last season, when they went to the playoffs for the first time. Ticknor left Fort Wayne to become an assistant coach with Memphis of the NBA.

Potter has said several times that he would like his new hire to have previous head-coaching experience.

Steve Gansey, who has remained with the team as an assistant coach this summer, and who was an interim head coach before Ticknor joined the team, was not a candidate for the position.
