Bishop Dwenger and East Noble claimed titles in two tennis sectional finals Saturday.
At Concordia, the Saints polished off New Haven 5-0, winning every match in straight sets and dropping just seven total games. Patrick Holly (6-0, 6-0), Patrick Blee (6-1, 6-0) and Joseph Veracco (6-3, 6-0) won in singles for the Saints.
At East Noble, the Knights beat Westview 4-1 for the crown. Austin Mohamedali and Evan Hart won in straight sets in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, and Aaron Dils won 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 in No. 3 singles to pace the Knights.
Hunter Christner and Jamar Weaver beat Jonathan Toles and Carl Kramer 6-4, 6-2 in No. 1 doubles for Westviews only win.
Boys cross country
NECC: Brandon Arnold won and three other West Noble runners finished in the top 10 to lead the Chargers to the Northeast Corner Conference title. Arnold finished in 16:54.05 to outpace Alexander Oberlin of Fairfield by eight seconds.
West Noble scored 35 points to beat Fairfield (74) and Lakeland (80).
Girls cross country
NECC: Fremont was an easy winner behind individual champion Abby Hostetler, who finished in 19:01.17 to beat Amairany Cruz of West Noble by nearly 48 seconds.
Katie Culler (fifth), Riley Welch (sixth), Courtney Woolsey (seventh) and Makenna Cade (10th) also finished in the top 10 for Fremont, which finished with 25 points to runner-up West Nobles 55.
ELKHART MEMORIAL INVITATIONAL: Carroll beat Elkhart Memorial and Plymouth but lost to Chesterton at Elkhart. Jocie Bolinger had 20 kills and Jacqueline Quade 18 to lead the Chargers.
SOUTHWOOD INVITATIONAL: Leo beat Muncie Central, Rochester and Southwood but lost to Bishop Luers 25-19, 25-19. Emily Wenglikowski had 49 total kills on the day.
WAYNE 2, EAST NOBLE 1: At Wayne, Jackie Hernandez and Kayley Putt scored second-half goals for the Generals. Janelle Wasson scored for East Noble.
