Park Tudor's Trevon Bluiett reopens recruitment

Park Tudor senior forward Trevon Bluiett, a former Indiana and Purdue target, reopened his recruitment Thursday, the Indianapolis Star reported.

Bluiett, a 6-foot-5 wing, is the No. 45 player in 2014 according to the 247Composite, a service from 247Sports.com that aggregates the rankings of four major recruiting websites into one number.

Bluiett committed to UCLA on Sept. 2 over finalists IU, Purdue, Arizona, Butler, Michigan and Xavier. A month later, he's back on the board.

"I think the distance part of it played a factor," Bluiett's father, Reynardo Bluiett, told Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star. "When he sat down and thought about it, I think the distance from home was hard for him."

Former Park Tudor coach Ed Schilling became an assistant at UCLA this summer, which was thought to have tilted the scales for Bluiett at the time. He had scheduled an official visit to Purdue for Sept. 14 before making his pledge to the Bruins.
