Rollover crash on I-69 kills woman

A rollover crash on Interstate 69 left one person dead Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred about 2 p.m. at the 321.5 mile marker, near the Allen County-DeKalb County border, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.

Witnesses told police a gray car began driving erratically in the southbound lanes. Witnesses said a woman was driving the car.

The car crossed into the left lane and then veered off the west side of the highway, rolling several times before coming to rest on the car’s top at the bottom of a ditch.

The driver, the only person in the car, died at the scene. The victim was wearing a seat belt; it is not known what factors might have played a role in the wreck, the sheriff’s department said.
