FORT WAYNE – Records: Trine 3-0, St. Josephs 2-1
When: 2 p.m. Saturday
Where: Alumni Stadium, Rensselaer
Radio: 88.3 FM
Scouting report: After two wins in which Trine gave up just 10 points total, the defense moved aside to let the offense take center stage last week in a 47-41 shootout win over Concordia (Wis.). Andrew Dee, in his first career start at quarterback, threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns and the Thunder put up 495 yards of offense. The downside: Concordia quarterback Austin Damaschke torched the previously stout Trine defense for 348 yards and five scores. This week the Thunder defense will face a very different challenge in St. Josephs, which rushed for 497 yards in a 45-17 thumping of Alderson-Broaddus. Three Pumas went over 100 yards, led by Braxton Sheltons 147 yards on 17 carries. The Pumas averaged 6.6 yards per rush.
