Young man killed in buggy crash

VERSAILLES, Ind. – State police say a young man was killed after being ejected from a buggy that crashed into a pickup truck in southeast Indiana.

The crash happened Thursday night on U.S. 421 near the Ripley County town of Versailles. Police said a horse-and-buggy driven by Daniel Stoltzfus of Versailles crossed the highway’s center line into the path of a pickup truck.

Sgt. Noel Houze said Stoltzfus was thrown onto the roadway and might have been hit by other vehicles. Houze said Stoltzfus was about 18.

The horse was also killed in the crash. None of the other drivers were hurt.
