Same path for Patriots?

Is Heritage on the same path as last year?

The Patriots are hopeful it goes something like 2012, but coach Dean Lehrman is in the wait-and-see mode.

Heritage (4-2, 2-1 ACAC) lost in its opener against New Haven in 2012 and 2013, then won four straight before stumbling against Leo each year.

Last year, the Patriots managed to put the loss to the Lions behind them and run off six straight wins, including beating then-No. 1 Jimtown in the sectional finals, before falling 42-20 to Mishawaka Marian in the regional.

"Everybody wants to keep throwing around last year," Lehrman said after the Patriots' 35-12 loss to Leo on Friday.

"This team is their own team, and they are unique. I and everybody here realize we are at the same juncture we were last year. It's a completely different bunch with a difference personality. I am not going to make all the comparisons. We will see what happens with this group."
