Defenseman William Lacasse invited to K's camp

Defenseman William Lacasse has signed a tryout agreement with the Komets, growing the preseason roster to 27 players, the club announced today.

Lacasse, 26, played 26 games among Greenville, Idaho and San Francisco in the ECHL last season, and had two goals, three assists and 22 penalty minutes, the Komets said in a statement. He also had five goals, nine assists and 16 penalty minutes in 26 games with Augusta of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

"Will is an offensive-minded defenseman that I had a chance to see play last season," Komets Coach Gary Graham said in the statement. "Watching film on him when he played for Idaho last season, it's evident that he can play at this level."

Lacasse is the third former Neumann College player on the roster, joining Kaleigh Schrock and Jeremy Gates, the statement said. The preseason roster now has 15 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.
