Obsession with Ritzan insult to votersShould the state superintendent be appointed instead of elected?Absolutely not. I don’t recall anyone throwing a temper tantrum when Tony Bennett was elected.

Many scientists subscribe to the global warming theory (now called “climate change”), but science is not determined by consensus but by facts.

Charter school agenda undermines publicís will

We voted against this, didn’t we?

We, the legion who knew before the dirtiest details emerged about Tony Bennett. We, the voters of Indiana, voted against turning our children into profit centers. Now our money set up a third Board of Education of folks who have been persuaded to pursue the agenda of those bent on privatizing and eliminating public education, despite the fact that we voted against it.

We’ve seen $91 million granted to charter schools, no repayment needed, for their failed system. Meanwhile, $85,508,760.18 is required to be repaid by public schools, whose budgets were cut to make up the millions given to the failed foundations and failed charter schools. The Indiana voters understood and voted against this.

Why didn’t our votes count?

Shutdown would reflect failure of Congress

The U.S. soon will hit the debt ceiling, which means come Oct. 1, the government will be out of money. Which means the government is shut down. Now, some are OK with this, but I am not.

Congressman Marlin Stutzman has already stated his open-ended approval of defunding Obamacare at all costs, including by shutting down the government.

The same Congress that would decide to shut down the government would still receive a paycheck – and we would still be required to pay taxes.

As an announced candidate for a U.S. House seat in northeast Indiana, my simple advice to Congress: If you cannot abide by the will of the people, then resign and never again seek elected office, forfeit all pensions and pay back collected salaries since November 2012. Representative Stutzman, this does include you.

Obama reckless in pushing Syria strike

President Barack Obama needs to take care of his own country first before trying to meddle in another one. The United States still has a relatively high unemployment rate from a very bad recession. Our deficit is out of control. The military is facing severe cuts and our domestic programs are suffering. Congress is the most dysfunctional body I have ever seen.

Any leader found to be guilty of committing crimes against his or her own people must be punished by a court of all nations, not just one. You are not sending any positive messages when you act alone while the world stays behind. If the Syrian government is guilty of gassing its own people, then it deserves whatever punishment the world deems appropriate, not Obama.

Obama’s actions remind me of vigilante justice. Just because someone possibly committed a crime does not give you the right to be police, judge, jury and executioner. There is a system and, no matter how good or bad the system may be, it must be used. Otherwise total chaos will surround us. The United States of America is not the world’s police department. We are one nation of many that make up the world.

What will this strike accomplish? Has he thought it through? What kind of strategy from start to finish is there? I sincerely hope that everyone that is watching will read this and ask the same questions that I pose here. God help us all.
