Outdoor Experience offers free activities

INDIANAPOLIS – Visitors to Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis will be able to participate in kayaking, archery, target shooting, mountain biking and other activities for no charge this weekend.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is holding its Hoosier Outdoor Experience. It runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

All equipment needed for the activities will be provided.

Participants are urged to register in advance at hoosieroutdoorexperience.IN.gov.

The DNR says trolleys will make travel easy within the 1,700-acre park.

It says more than 25,000 people attended last year’s event at the heavily wooded former Army base on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
