Boyles back for East Noble

Without the suspended Brandon Mable, East Noble needed some players to step up.

And in his second game back from a shoulder injury, Walker Boyles was right there for the Knights in a 27-7 win over Carroll on Friday.

From his usual linebacker spot, Boyles had two fumble recoveries and also as part of a committee filling in for Mable at running back, he had two touchdowns one a 1-yard run and a 44-yard catch from Bryce Wolfe.

"He helped us on both sides," East Noble coach Luke Amstutz said. "He's a great leader, and he is one of the premier players around this area."

Coming off the field, an East Noble assistant coach asked Boyles what it was like to play on offense and defense.

He simply shook his head.

"I have been prepared and my team was excited to have me back," Boyles said about getting back into the lineup after missing the first three games. "I really missed being on the field with them. I finally got my chance, and I think I did a pretty good job of helping my team."
