‘Scandal’ star named top dresser

“Scandal” star Kerry Washington is the world’s best-dressed woman, according to People magazine.

Washington, 36, has proved a red-carpet risk-taker, wearing up-and-coming designers and making atypical choices – such as a crystal-covered coral Miu Miu gown for the Oscars.

Unlike her character on ABC’s “Scandal,” Washington says she doesn’t wear many power-broker pantsuits.

King to perform

Carole King will perform at Alicia Keys’ Black Ball event in November.

Keys announced Wednesday that the iconic singer will hit the stage at the fundraising gala Nov. 7 at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom for her charity, Keep a Child Alive. It will be the organization’s 10-year anniversary.

Keep a Child Alive assists people affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

Home auctioned

The childhood home of rapper Eminem has gone up for auction in Detroit.

The Detroit News reported Wednesday that the small, single-family house on the city’s northeast side is listed on a state website. No price was given for the 747-square-foot home.

Public records show the home was listed as the address of Eminem’s mother, Deborah Mathers, from 1989 to 2003.
