Komets road TV 2013

Twelve of the Komets’ road games this season will be televised locally, through MyTVFortWayne, it was announced Wednesday.

The games will air on digital channel 33.2, on Comcast standard definition 18 and 252, Comcast high definition 1018, DirectTV 34, Dish Network 56, Frontier standard definition 9 and Frontier high definition 509.

“The schedule of games on MyTV will allow fans a chance to see some of the ECHL’s other venues and compliment Bob Chase’s radio broadcasts (on WOWO) in providing fans with yet another opportunity to stay connected to the boys,” said Scott Sproat, the Komets’ vice president of sales and marketing.

The broadcasting duties will be handled by Tommy Schoegler and Kent Hormann.

The games to be broadcast will be: Oct. 27 at Evansville; Nov. 1 and 2 at Las Vegas; Nov. 24 at Evansville; Dec.7 at Reading; Dec. 28 at Evansville; Jan. 10 at Toledo; Jan. 29 at Wheeling; Feb. 12 at Cincinnati; March 8 at Kalamazoo; and March 16 and April 4 at Toledo.

The Komets also announced that “SoundOff with the Komets” will return for a third season and, as it was in its first year, be telecast live so fans can attend. It will be at Champions Bar and Restaurant in downtown Fort Wayne, beginning Oct. 24 on 21Alive and airing weekly on Mondays.

The Komets play their first exhibition home game Oct. 12 at Memorial Coliseum against Wheeling. They open the regular season – their 62nd – Oct. 19 at the Coliseum against Toledo.

They have 26 players signed for this season, their second in the ECHL.
