1 dead, 1 missing in northwest Ohio home explosion

STONY RIDGE, Ohio – An explosion has leveled a home in northwest Ohio, leaving one person dead and another missing.

Authorities just south of Toledo said three other people were injured in the blast that happened early Tuesday morning near the village of Stony Ridge.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office said four people were found outside the single-story home.

Neighbors said that the explosion woke them up around 5 a.m. and that they saw flames across the street. They say the explosion knocked items off their walls.

Another neighbor said it sounded like a plane had crashed.

The explosion scattered debris throughout the home's yard.
