Alcohol suspected in deadly wreck

Police believe alcohol was a factor in a single-car crash Saturday evening that took the life of a Cromwell man.

According to a release from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, Oscar Rodriguez, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene after the car he was driving veered off the road and struck a tree at 825 Morton Road in Ligonier.

A passenger in the car was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with leg and upper-body injuries.
