Plan group OKs 152-unit complex on northwest side

Another "condo-like" rental community gained approval after initial concerns over stormwater drainage.

The Fort Wayne Plan Commission on Monday approved Atrium Village, a 152-unit complex on the south side of West Wallen Road and on the east side of Lima Road on the city's northwest side. The development would be completed in two phases. The City Council will vote on a rezoning request in coming weeks.

The project's owner, Redwood Management Co. of Beachwood, Ohio, already is working on Maplecrest Luxury Apartments, a 95-unit development on the city's northeast side, west of Maplecrest Road and south of that area's Kroger store.

Redwood Management specializes in two-bedroom duplexes with dens, private entrances and two-car garages.
